About Us
Jim Hargaden, founder and Executive Director, is a life-long angler who knows first-hand how the disabled feel. Jim was intent on not giving up his favorite past-time — light tackle angling.
Armchair Anglers was founded in order to provide World-class fishing opportunities to these Anglers. Seeing a need, Jim designed a custom, fully accessible fiberglass catamaran in order to make this dream a reality. The boat, once built, will be utilized to allow physically challenged anglers to enjoy a variety of fishing adventures.
Our current goal is to raise sufficient funds by December 2010 so that Jim’s specially designed boat can be built and outfitted in order to begin these adventures.
If you’re like Jim, and love fishing or know someone who loves to fish but due to physical limitation, can’t participate or enjoy the sport as they used to, we want to hear from you. Or perhaps you know someone who would like to learn to become an angler, but they don’t have access ... Well, now they can!
